OpenIndoor API / API OpenIndoor

The OpenIndoor team is about to provide you with access to OpenStreetMap indoor data.

HOW WE DO IT

Once a month, and automatically, from the Open Street Map database, we extract buildings that contain internal points of interest (rooms, elevators, levels).

Then, we retrieve in real time all the data contained in these buildings.

And finally, we expose this open data as an API in “Mapbox Vector Tiles” format, optimized for dynamic web rendering.

We only use open source tools. And especially:

Regarding the technical part, here is what we use:

OSMIUM TOOLS

The“osmium tools”, optimized for parallel processing

GEOPANDAS

The python language and its “geopandas” library

PostGIS

The PostGIS database, suitable for geographic data storage

TEGOLA

The “tegola” solution for data exposure as an API
